Yeshasvini Scheme

"Yeshasvini Cooperative Farmers Health Care Scheme" (Yeshasvini Scheme) was introduced by the State Government to the Co-operative farmers of Karnataka. 

Scheme was operationalised with effect from 1st June 2003

Karnataka has become role model state with the introduction of ‘Yeshasvini Self Funded Health Care Scheme’.

Features : 
  • Yeshasvini is one of the largest Self Funded Healthcare Scheme in the country.
  • It is a contributory scheme wherein the beneficiaries contribute a small amount of money every year to avail any possible surgery during the period.
  • The beneficiaries are offered cashless treatment subject to conditions of the scheme at the Network Hospitals spread across the State of Karnataka

National Disaster Response Force


Formation : 

  • Two national calamities in quick succession in the form of Orissa super cyclone(1999) and Gujarat Earthquake(2001) brought about the realization of having a specialist response mechanism at National Level to effectively respond to such disasters.
  • This realization led to the enactment of Disaster Management act on 26 Dec 2005.
  • The NDMA was constituted to formalize the plans,policies and guidelines for DM.
  • NDRF established in 2009

Constitutes : 

  • DM act has made statutory provisions to make NDRF  for the purpose of specialized response to natural and man-made disasters.
  • Accordingly , NDRF was constituted with 8 battalions(2 each from BSF,CRPF,ITBP,CISF).
  • Present location of NDRF Bns are as follows:
    • Ghaziabad
    • Bhatinda
    • Kolkata
    • Guwahati
    • Mundali,Orissa
    • Arakkonam , TN
    • Pune
    • GandhiNagar
    • Patna(under construction)
    • Guntur, Andhra Pradesh(under construction)

India-China Defense Cooperation Agreement


There is no commonly delineated Line of Actual Control (LAC) between India and China. There are areas along the border where India and China have differing perceptions of the LAC. Due to both sides undertaking patrolling upto their respective perceptions of the LAC, transgressions do occur.  Government regularly takes up any transgression with the Chinese side through established mechanisms.

Both countries signed a Border Defence Cooperation Agreement on 23rd October, 2013, seeking to facilitate ways and means to implement border defence cooperation; measures to facilitate contacts and to enhance understanding and cooperation between the border

Farmer Club

                                            English: agriculture


Definition : 

  • Grassroot level informal forums of farmers

  • Such Clubs are organized by rural branches of banks with the support and financial assistance of NABARD for the mutual benefit of the banks concerned and the village farming community/rural people.

  • All Institutional Agencies (Commercial Banks, Cooperative Banks and Regional Rural Banks) and all grassroot level organisations (NGOs, PRIs, State Agricultural Universities, KVKs, ATMA, Post Offices etc.) are eligible to form Farmers’ Clubs.
